What’s up, everyone? Today, I want to summarize that interview I shared with Dan Clark! He talked about this question: What can you do for others?
Let’s jump in!
Dan: Giving back is how you find real success.
Live the Law of Reciprocity because it is real. Karma is real.
The more you give the more you get.
My work surrounds me with countless celebrities and famous people.
The most influential of this group are those that meet people and think, “What can I do for this person?”
They are not only thinking of themselves.
When you meet people, learn about their family, interests, and dreams.
People get interested in you when you are interested in them.
One time, I flew from Burbank to Salt Lake and sat next to Lorne Michaels in first class.
He’s one of the most famous TV producers of all time – he still does Saturday Night Live.
Instead of treating him like a celebrity, I treated him like a human being.
We were getting to know each other, laughing, and swapping stories.
When we landed, he cancelled his plans and hung out with me some more!
He loved being treated like a normal person.
This principle doesn’t only apply to superstars, it applies to everyone.
Bridger: You walked into our last event in Miami, and no one knew who you were.
Yet, because of your charisma, everyone wanted to meet you.
How do you do that?
Dan: It’s all about the fundamentals:
- Eye contact
- Firm handshake
- Smile
- Ask people about themselves
- Think more of others
It’s the difference between waling into a room with a cocky swagger instead of a humble confidence.
So, what can you do for others?
There are so many unique ways you can give back.
Serve and love other people out of the goodness of your heart, not because you want something in return.
The more you give the more successful and happy you will be!
That’s it for today!
